Government of Canada

The federal government has a strong interest in effective consultation strategies. In 1992 the government published consultation guidelines for managers that are still current, and can be found on the website of the Privy Council office. "It is the policy of the Government of Canada to pursue and to promote consultation with Canadians in the development of public policy and in the design of programs and services."

The Treasury Board Of Canada Secretariat has published a Guide to Client Consultation detailing goals and objectives, performance indicators and strategic considerations.

Government of Alberta

The Government of Alberta provides a useful web page detailing current public consultations, access to an archive of recent consultation processes and a simple Q & A about the role of consultation in forming public policy.
